01. Who needs to register for what?

First, please note that APMC 2022 consists of "three" registration divisions:

1. Conference (at Annex Hall from November 30 to December 2, 2022)
2. Workshops/Short Courses (at Annex Hall on November 29, 2022)
3. Microwave Exhibition (at Exhibition Hall D from November 30 to December 2, 2022)

Second, we are providing "two" different registration systems:

1. Whova Registration System (in English) >>> for participants in "Conference" and/or "Workshops/Short Courses," covering the admittance into "Microwave Exhibition"
2. Microwave Exhibition Registration System (in Japanese) >>> for participants in "Microwave Exhibition" (free of charge)

In other words, all those listed below should register through the Whova Registration System.

(If you are only interested in participating in "Microwave Exhibition," please do not use Whova, but use the Microwave Exhibition Registration System, which will be available by the end of October 2022.)

02. Attendance Style (in-person or virtual)

APMC 2022 will be a hybrid conference, where participants can attend the technical/scientific sessions either "at the conference venue in person" or "virtually on the online Zoom platform (on Whova)."

There is no difference in fees between in-person and virtual attendances, but if you are attending APMC 2022 in person, you will have to let us know about your attendance style by 24:00 on October 25, 2022 (Hawaii Time, or UTC-10) already over, by responding to our survey email. (The survey email will be sent to all the registered attendees around the end of October.)

03. Registration Fees

There are three basic registration tickets for APMC 2022:

1. a) Superpass Ticket (covering both "Conference" and "Workshops/Short Courses")
2. b) Conference Ticket (covering "Conference" only)
3. c) Workshops/Short Courses Ticket (covering "Workshops/Short Courses" only)

Each ticket is further divided into "Regular" or "Student/Retiree."

• Those who select "Student" will be required to enter their school name and their supervisor's name in the registration form on Whova. Also, "Retiree" is defined as a person who is attaining the age of 60 years as of November 29, 2022, and not gainfully employed.

Also, members of the APMC 2022 sponsoring organizations listed below will receive privileges of membership for their registration fees. Please visit the sponsoring organizations' websites for membership application, only if you like.

Thus, the registration tickets can be numbered from 1 to 4 on the following basis:

1. Regular (Member)
2. Regular (Non-Member)
3. Student/Retiree (Member)
4. Student/Retiree (Non-Member)

Furthermore, presenters at Conference should select "Presenter Tickets," which include a one-paper presentation fee of 20,000 JPY, while audience should select "Audience Tickets." The Conference presenters' registration deadline is 24:00 on September 21, 2022 (Hawaii Tiime, or UTC-10) already over.

04. Additional Presentation Fees

As explained above, a "Presenter Ticket" includes a one-paper presentation fee, but in case a presenter is giving multiple presentations, then an additional presentation fee of 20,000 JPY per paper will be required.

Additional Presentation Tickets are available at the time you first register on Whova.
In case you need to buy Additional Presentation Tickets after you have completed your first registration, please contact our secretariat at registration@apmc2022.org.

05. Registration Process

Those who wish to attend "Conference" and/or "Workshops/Short Courses" should go into the Whova Registration System, and buy a registration ticket that corresponds to your registration category. (See the tables above.)

After you have completed the payment for the registration ticket, please wait until the Whova Web/Mobile App page for APMC 2022 is published. This page should be ready on Novemer 22, 2022.

Once the APMC 2022 Whova Web/Mobile App page is published, you will receive a notification email regarding how to sign up for Whova (or, if you already have a Whova account from other events in the past, you can sign in into the APMC 2022 Whova Web/Mobile App page with the existing account).

The Whova Web/Mobile App will allow you to assess the Zoom meeting rooms for the sessions at Conference and/or Workshops/Short Courses.

06. Registration Desk (for In-Person Attendees)

If you are attending "Conference" and/or "Workshops/Short Courses" in person, please come to the Registration Desk on your arrival at the conference venue.

The Registration and Information Desk for "Conference" and "Workshops/Short Courses" will be located on the 2nd floor of Annex Hall of Pacifico Yokohama, the conference venue, and will be open during the following hours (Japan Time, or UTC+9):

07. How to Attend Conference and Workshops/Short Courses (for In-Person Attendees)

At the Registration Desk, you will receive your name badge, which allows you to enter the session rooms in Annex Hall, where Conference and Workshops/Short Courses will be held.

08. How to Attend Microwave Exhibition (for In-Person Attendees)

The name badge allows you to enter the Exhibition Hall D to attend Microwave Exhibition as well.

There will be a QR code printed on your name badge, and you will need to have the code scanned to enter the Exhibition Hall D.

Also, in the Exhibition Hall D, some of the exhibitors may ask you to scan the QR code on your name badge. If you allow them to do so, some of your registration information (your name, organization, country, and email address) will be sent to the exhibitor who scanned your code. (You can decline this, if you do not like.)

09. How to Attend Conference and Workshops/Short Courses (Virtually)

Even if you are attending APMC 2022 in person, all the registered attendees can virtually participate in "Conference" and/or "Workshops/Short Courses" using the Whova Web/Mobile App. In the app, you should be able to find the Zoom URL links that correspond to the ticket you have purchased.

10. How to Attend the APMC 2022's Social Events (for In-Person Attendees)

There are two main social events prepared for all the in-person attendees of APMC 2022.

One is "Welcome Ceremony," which is scheduled to be held on the evening of Wednesday, November 30, 2022, and all the in-person attendees are invited to this event without any extra fee.

The other is "APMC 2022 Banquet," which is scheduled to be held on the evening of Thursday, December 1, 2022. Banquet tickets will NOT be available on the Whova Registration System, but can be purchased through "Banquet Application Form" with 15,000 JPY per ticket. 11. How to Download Conference Digital Materials

For Conference attendees, we will prepare the "APMC 2022 Conference Proceedings," which will be available after the Whova Web/Mobile App is published on November 22, 2022.

Also, for Workshops/Short Courses attendees, we will prepare the "APMC 2022 Workshops/Short Courses Digest," which can be downloaded through the Whova Web/Mobile App as well.

12. Cancellation

In the event of cancellation, no refund will be made after the completion of payment, no matter what the reason may be.
