- Title
- * Broadband Six-Port Rat-Race Coupler with Quadrature Differential Outputs
- Highlight
- A six-port rat-race coupler generates two differential output pairs in quadrature from a single-ended input. Two half-wavelength delay lines and a half-wavelength open stub compensate frequency-dependent phase variation. The exhibit presents the operating principle and measured return loss, isolation, output amplitude balance, and phase characteristics of a 0.96-GHz microstrip prototype.

- Title
- * Understanding Cochlear Acoustics through Microwave Engineering — Even-Odd Modes and Mode Conversion for Air and Bone Conduction —
- Highlight
- The cochlea consists of two acoustic transmission lines coupled through the basilar membrane. Even and odd acoustic modes propagate within the cochlea, with the odd mode directly involved in sound perception. How do air- and bone-conducted sounds generate the odd mode? We explore cochlear hearing mechanisms from a microwave engineering perspective.
