Message from the Chair of the MWE 2026 Steering Committee

Welcome to MWE 2026 (Microwave Workshops and Exhibition), to be held at Pacifico Yokohama, Japan, from November 25 to 27, 2026.

Since its inception in 1991, MWE has grown into one of Japan's leading events for the microwave community, bringing together researchers, engineers, business leaders, educators, and students from across academia, industry, and government. By combining a high-quality technical program with a comprehensive industrial exhibition, MWE has continuously served as a platform for innovation, collaboration, and knowledge exchange in microwave-related fields.

This year marks a significant milestone-the 30th edition of MWE. We owe this achievement to the continued support of our participants, exhibitors, speakers, sponsors, and partner organizations. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to everyone who has contributed to the growth and success of MWE over the years.

MWE has long played an important role in connecting Japan's microwave community with the global microwave ecosystem. Together with the International Microwave Symposium (IMS), European Microwave Week (EuMW), and the Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC), MWE contributes to advancing microwave science, technology, and industry on an international scale. Through these connections, MWE provides valuable opportunities for collaboration across borders and disciplines.

The theme of MWE 2026 is:
A New Era of Microwave Business with Industry, Government, and Academia Working as One
Today, nations around the world are facing unprecedented challenges, including demographic shifts, economic transformation, technological competition, and growing demands for sustainability and resilience. Addressing these complex issues requires cooperation that transcends traditional organizational boundaries. We believe that closer collaboration among industry, government, and academia is essential for creating innovative solutions and generating new value for society.

Under this theme, MWE 2026 aims to provide a forum where diverse stakeholders can come together to share ideas, build partnerships, and explore how microwave technologies can contribute to a better future.

The technical program will cover a broad range of topics spanning microwave, millimeter-wave, and terahertz technologies, as well as emerging applications such as wireless power transfer, space technologies, quantum technologies, 6G communications, and IOWN-related innovations. Distinguished speakers from government, academia, and industry will share their insights on technology trends, policy developments, and future opportunities.

The Microwave Exhibition will showcase the latest products, services, and technological advances from leading companies and organizations. Visitors will also have opportunities to attend exhibitor seminars, engage with cutting-edge academic research in the University Exhibition Corner, and participate in a variety of networking and educational programs designed to foster collaboration and inspire future generations of microwave professionals.

As we celebrate this milestone year, we remain committed to supporting the continued advancement of microwave science and technology while strengthening collaboration among industry, government, and academia.

I sincerely hope that MWE 2026 will provide valuable opportunities for learning, innovation, and partnership for all participants. Most importantly, I look forward to welcoming you to Yokohama and sharing an exciting and rewarding experience together.
