Welcome to MWE 2025
2025 Microwave Workshops and Exhibition (MWE 2025) will be held from Wednesday, November 26th to Friday, November 28th, 2025, at PACIFICO Yokohama in the Minato Mirai district of Yokohama. MWE is one of the largest events in Japan focused on microwave technology and industry, held with the dual format of technical workshops and an exhibition, and aims to promote the continuous advancement, Industry-Government-Academia Collaboration, and fostering the creation of new industries of microwave technologies. Since the first event held in 1991 at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, this year marks the 29th edition of MWE. We look forward to welcoming you in Yokohama.
MWE collaborates with Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC), the largest international microwave conference in the Asia-Pacific region, which is held in Japan once every four years, alongside International Microwave Symposium (IMS) in the U.S. and European Microwave Week (EuMW) in Europe. Through this collaboration, MWE leads the microwave field in Japan and serves as a forum where microwave technologies and industries from both domestic and international communities converge. Furthermore, by fostering the creation of new technologies based on microwave technologies and returning the resulting knowledge and achievements to society and industry, MWE contributes to the advancement of academia, industry, and education in Japan.
The keynote concept of MWE 2025 is "Microwave Technology Shaping the Future from Fundamentals to the Cutting Edge". This theme expresses our strong belief that microwave technology is indispensable in shaping the future. It also conveys our aspiration to provide solutions for all participants-from beginners wondering "How can I connect wirelessly?" to advanced researchers seeking highly specialized components and equipment. Under this concept, we hope to envision and explore how microwave technology can contribute to solving the challenges of future society-together with all of you.
The workshops will again be held entirely on-site, as in the previous year. The program is designed around the keynote concept and covers a wide range of topics, from fundamental technologies in microwaves, millimeter-waves, and terahertz, to cutting-edge sessions on wireless power transfer, space applications, AI, quantum technologies, 6G, and IOWN. We will also offer basic and ultra-introductory lectures tailored to beginners. The keynote speech will be given by Mr. Yuji Nakamura, the Director of Radio Policy Division, Radio Department, Telecommunications Infrastructure Bureau, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, on the latest trends in radio frequency administration. This will be followed by a speech by Dr. Yasushi Takatori, Senior Distinguished Researcher at NTT Access Network Service Systems Laboratories / Professor at Nanzan University, on the future envisioned by IOWN and expectations for microwave technologies.
The Microwave Exhibition will also be held entirely on-site, where visitors can directly observe the latest products and technological innovations exhibited by participating companies. Exhibitor seminars will be held in parallel, offering deeper insights into featured technologies and product backgrounds. The University Exhibition Corner, hosted by university and college laboratories, will showcase cutting-edge research results and serve as a platform for interaction between academia and industry. Additionally, a special Ideathon is planned to inspire students' creativity, encouraging the exchange of innovative ideas involving systems, applications, and business models. We hope this exhibition will act as a crossroads of people, technology, and information, sparking new discoveries and connections.
In closing, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the generous support and longstanding patronage that have made MWE 2025 possible. As with last year, MWE 2025 will be held entirely on-site. We sincerely hope that this event will contribute to the advancement of microwave technologies-from fundamental principles to cutting-edge innovations-that support future society. We also hope that MWE 2025 will serve as a valuable opportunity for engineers, researchers, and students to gain new knowledge, build connections, and take on new challenges. We look forward to welcoming you to MWE 2025.
