Title
* PAPR reduction for OFDM signal transmission
Highlight
One of the most difficult concerns in the power amplifiers(PA) of OFDM transmitters is handling very large peak-to-average power ratios (PAPRs).A peak power in the OFDM signal will occur when all of the sub-carriers align in phase and the value of the PAPR is proportional to the number of the sub-carriers.As a result, the PA must be required large back-off operation and the power added efficiency of the PA goesdown seriously. This time, we will propose and demonstrate a new effectivetechnique of PAPR reduction. To prove the validity of our proposal, the OFDMtransmitter and receiver fabricated using FPGA devices will be demonstrated.

Wireless Control Networks for Smart Grid
Highlight
We aim at realizing future wireless applications including data transmission and energy management. For the former, we propose a novel single front-end MIMO transceiver architecture which prospects device miniaturization while still realizing high spectral efficiency. We also theoretically analyze phase noise and its effects on OFDM system at 60GHz band. For the latter, we investigate a practical implementation of demand-response strategy in smart grid with distributed and hierarchical wireless controllers to efficiently achieve peak powersaving.

* Via-Wheel Power Transfer Exploiting RF Displacement Current to Wireless Electric Vehicles
Highlight
We propose via-wheel power transfer (VWPT) system for wireless electric vehicle. We explain zero-gap WPT system exploiting RF displacement current, and exhibit a power transfer demonstration on concrete or asphalt road surface.
