Easy operability and wide usability are the most important necessities for EM simulators.
However, the EM analysis methods and simulation tools with high accuracy, flexible applicability to special problems and easy adaptability to software code change would be also indispensable. From this viewpoint we are developing simulation tools for analyzing MMIC passive elements.

Demands on the dielectrics for quasi-millimeter or millimeter-wave range are increasing.
Forsterite-based ceramics with small temperature coefficient of resonant frequency having high Q and low dielectric constant, and investigation of its application to electronic devices are presented in this corner.

An effective method of simultaneous evaluation for the complex permittivity and permeability of materials in microwave region is presented by using accurate electromagnetic field analysis. Microwave absorbers, evaluated by this method, are demonstrated.
Propagation characteristics of various printed leaky-wave modes will be presented.
